Hello, I’m Nicholas Koch… but most people just call me Nick, or Koch depending on their preference.
I’m a 25 year old cybersecurity student out of Pensacola FL. I’ve been experimenting with computers and technology for 15 years now, mainly through breaking them, fixing them, and then breaking them again until I can’t break them any more. Outside of computers, I’m a general class amateur radio operator, anime fan, mtg player, fencer, and coffee lover who occasionally has an affair with tea.
As for writing this blog, it’s a way for me to better retain what I learn in my studies, and share it with everyone here, as well as talk about current happenings in the infosec sphere. Communication is a bigger part of hacking than people think. Talking about what we learn, as well as listening to others is one of the most important things we can do. It’s why we have cons, hackerspaces/makerspaces, and meetups.
I’ll try to update this at least once a week. Maybe it’ll be a wall of text, sometimes it’ll be a small blurb depending on my schedule (the struggle of being a full time student with a job on the side).
